1. figure out if its caused by your resource file being empty

2. if resource file is empty then download the following http://www.mediafire.com/?7slxc86929lx3hs
and extract it

3. go to your minecraft folder

C:\Users\ (user) \AppData\Roaming\.minecraft for windows 7 and vista(i think)

(as far as xp im not sure but probably similiar)

4.replace the resource with the one you download in step 2

OR if your resource folder is there then

2. go to system 32 and look for OpenAL32.dll

3. if its not there then download this http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/ … Items.aspx

4. run and install it

5. once you have OpenAL32.dll then replace it with the one in (make a backup or rename the old one

OLDOpenAL32.dll)

C:\Users\ (user) \AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\natives (again for windows 7 and maybe vista)

(for xp sorry i’m not sure)

OR if none of them worked then

2. patience (fore some people simply waiting fixed the problem estimated time ranges from a few minutes to acouple hous)
